The 4th Black Men and Boys 2025 Campaign Meeting

On February 26 and 27, 2007, more than 30 representatives from national and local organizations converged on Oakland, California, to bring about focused action on behalf of Black Men and Boys. Everyone agreed that closing the gap on specific performance indicators in education, decreasing incarceration rates, and countering negative stereotypical images of Black males in the media are important elements of the campaign. They believe that increasing the visibility of critical issues facing Black men and boys in select localities in a way that resonates on a national level requires a strategic plan that all involved can both back and utilize.
